What happened. UEFA held an emergency meeting and voted to boycott the World Cup and other FIFA competitions in protest against Gianni Infantino's plan to sell shares in FIFA's competitions.

FIFA offered $40m to associations for supporting the scheme.
UEFA had already issued two statements criticizing the plans.
The Women's World Cup in Brazil is also affected.

The boycott will take effect unless Infantino withdraws the controversial proposal.
