What happened. Nicolò Zaniolo has left the Italy training camp due to an injury and will miss the Nations League games against Türkiye and France. The Udinese forward had been a strong candidate to start in the 2-0 home defeat to Belgium but was left in the stands.
- Zaniolo had sustained a hamstring injury last month and made only one Udinese appearance since.
- He would have been in line for his first Italy game since 2024.
- Federico Dimarco and Bryan Cristante also withdrew, replaced by Matteo Ruggeri and Samuele Ricci.
Italy continue their Nations League campaign away to Türkiye on September 28, then visit France on October 2.
