Motsepe demands urgency as East Africa races for Afcon 2027
Nine months out, Caf's president warns co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda there is no room for delay.

What happened. Caf president Patrice Motsepe called for a "heightened sense of urgency" from Afcon 2027 co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda after inspecting preparations in Kenya. He said stadiums must be ready for testing in January, roughly three months away.
- Motsepe reported "very good progress" but admitted some facilities remain below the required standard.
- He ruled out any postponement, citing "a deep amount of commitment" from the hosts.
- The tournament returns to East Africa for the first time in 51 years.
