What happened. John Stones suffered a thigh injury during his first start for Inter Milan, who beat Udinese 5-3 at San Siro on Monday, and had to be substituted after an hour. He is unlikely to be named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad, announced at 10am on Friday, for the Nations League games against Spain, Czechia and Croatia.
- Stones, 32, joined Inter after being released by Manchester City in June.
- He started three of England's eight World Cup games, including the semi-final defeat to Argentina.
