Savannah DeMelo sues UofL Health over cardiac arrest
Racing Louisville midfielder Savannah DeMelo has filed a lawsuit against UofL Health and two physicians after suffering cardiac arrest during a game.

What happened. Savannah DeMelo suffered cardiac arrest in the first half of an NWSL game on 14 September 2025. She has filed a lawsuit against UofL Health and two named physicians, alleging negligence in failing to properly diagnose a heart condition before the incident.
- The complaint claims UofL Health failed to act as a reasonably prudent medical practice.
- The alleged negligence was a substantial factor in causing her severe physical injuries, including cardiac arrest.
