What happened. Philippe Coutinho has joined Santos until the end of the season, linking up with close friend and Brazil team-mate Neymar. The 34-year-old midfielder had been without a club since leaving boyhood side Vasco da Gama in February.

• Santos marked the signing with a photo of Coutinho and Neymar as teenagers.
• Neymar returned to Santos, his childhood club, in January last year.
• This will be the first time the friends have played together at club level.
