What happened. Cagliari striker Yael Trepy has been given the all clear to resume training a month after a drowning incident left him in a coma. The 20-year-old ran into difficulty in the deep end of a rented pool in Sardinia on August 16 and was hospitalised in critical condition.
- He was placed in an induced coma to remove water from his lungs and spent 10 days in hospital.
- Cardiac tests in Milan showed no after-effects of the incident.
- His return will be gradual, with no clear date for playing again.
Trepy joined Cagliari's youth academy in 2023 and started the season's first Coppa Italia match before the accident.
