Liverpool sign Saint-Etienne teen ahead of January move

Days after the window shut, Liverpool quietly wrapped up a deal for an 18-year-old French prospect.

What happened. Liverpool announced the signing of Djylian N'Guessan from Saint-Etienne, with the move secured despite the transfer window closing on September 1.

• N'Guessan will officially join the Reds in January.
