Itakura returns to Gladbach on four-year deal

Japanese defender Ko Itakura is back at Borussia Mönchengladbach, four years after leaving for Ajax.

What happened. Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of Japanese defender Ko Itakura from Ajax on a four-year deal through to 2030.

• Itakura played 80 times for Gladbach between 2022 and 2025.
• He will wear the No.6 jersey for the Foals.
• Sport director Rouven Schröder cited his experience and quality.
