What happened. Hull City confirmed the signing of defender Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano for a club record fee, surpassing the £20m paid for Konstantinos Tzolakis earlier this month.

Mendy signed a five-year contract with an option for a further year.
The 21-year-old scored twice in 28 La Liga games last season.
He played in the Conference League final, losing to Crystal Palace.
